Hello everybody, Smile

Just thought I would take a minute to introduce myself, I am new to this forum & pretty much new to the idea of wanting to become a midwife.........

Well here goes.........I gave birth to my beautiful daughter 2.5yrs ago & had such fantastic midwives guide me through my labour that they really inspired me to become a midwife myself, so I took a cpl of yrs to spend with my daughter then decided to throw myself in the deep end and apply for a Maternity Healthcare Assistant job (a proffesion I had never been involved in before) anyway I hit pot luck & was offered the job just a cpl of days later. So since then I have been working as a HCA on Delivery Suite & in theatre! I absolutely love my job & admire every one of the midwives I work with for what they do.

Anyway I have applied for a place on the Access to Higher Education Health & Social Care Diploma course at my local college & have been invited for an interview nxt wk. I am really hoping I get a place on this course (which I will need to also 'somehow' fit in a maths course too as I didnt do to great in that subject at school) and then I plan to apply for uni nxt yr. Eeeeeekkkkkkk. So exciting!

Well I have no idea if the way I am goin about this is right or not, but I hope it is. If anyone fancies a chat or can direct me any other way then pls do so.

xxx

The access course should offer Maths as well - if not go to your local learndirect centre - I have my GCSE in Maths but wanted to brush up as well and managed the maths at learndirect in a week!
