Am I going into labour? I have been told that my baby's head is down in my pelvic area does this mean the baby's head is engaged? I have been getting bad back pains and have been feeling some pains in my belly and feel like I'm constantly going to wet myself. My baby is still fully active - am I going into labour?
It is normal in pregnancy to feel discomfort and have pain in your belly. These are usually normal occurrences, maybe due to Braxton Hicks Contractions or ligaments stretching as your pregnancy progresses. Braxton Hicks Contractions are a good sign that your uterus is preparing for labour, but it is not an indication to how long it will be.
There is a chance that you may have a urine infection, so you should visit your GP if you are still feeling uncomfortable, they will be able to check your urine and give you some antibiotics if necessary.
If you have pain or bleeding or regular contractions you should call your midwife to find out where you need to go to be seen quickly. |
