Is it safe to have sex?

I recently saw my midwife and asked about sex, she covered topics on what to do if there’s any bleeding and things like that and I know it’s perfectly normal and fine to do as long as I’m comfortable. But I still have a query that I was a little embarrassed to ask face to face, you see me and my partner enjoy a very healthy and active sex life, at least once every two days and now that I’m 25 weeks, I’m reading up on birth and labour and know that sperm, contains a hormone that triggers labour. I just want to know if it’s ok for my partner to still ejaculate inside of me and that it won’t set me off early or anything like that?

Please be reassured that there are no embarrassing questions for midwives. You partner can ejaculate inside you, as your cervix will not be triggered until it is ready for you to go in to labour.
