Pituitary gland

Pituitary gland: Ag gland set just below the brain that, among other functions secrets various hormones controlling the menstrual cycle. In late pregnancy it releases a hormone, oxytocin, into the bloodstream which stimulates uterine contractions and also the milk glands.
