Month one of pregnancy diary
You may not realise it, or have only just found out you are pregnant, and because pregnancy is counted from the first day of your last menstrual period (when you weren’t even pregnant!) a whole month, or 4-5 weeks, may have passed already. |
Month two of pregnancy diary
Congratulations: now that you have confirmed you are pregnant you will be able to make sense of certain niggling symptoms you may be experiencing. In fact both you and your growing baby undergo very special changes during this month. Reassure yourself that a lot of what you are feeling is perfectly normal. |
Month three of pregnancy diary
Into your third month of pregnancy and now definitely feeling it; you are actually approaching the end of the first period (first trimester). In this month your baby will transform into a recognisable human being with all of its major structures formed. |
Month four of pregnancy diary
This is the second period of your pregnancy – the second trimester. You may well have had your first antenatal care appointment; if not, it is advisable to make contact with a midwife or GP, depending on what care is available in your area. Your surgery or local maternity unit will be able to let you know how to access this. |
Month five of pregnancy diary
Into your fifth month of pregnancy, and well into the second trimester. At this time your baby is getting on with significant growth and development, whilst you try to adjust to all the emotional and physical changes accompanying your journey through pregnancy.
By the end of this month you will be half way there!
|
Month six of pregnancy diary
You are now more than half way though your pregnancy, according to the estimated date of your baby’s birth. |
Month seven of pregnancy diary
Now that you are in your seventh month of pregnancy, you are entering the third trimester (the last period from the seventh month to the ninth month). |
Month eight of pregnancy diary
You are well into the last stretch now. You have been pregnant for a long time and are probably feeling restless. You still need to look after yourself well as you prepare for your baby’s birth sometime ahead. You will probably give up work this month. Use the time on your hands to get plenty of relaxation and gentle exercise, and eat well. |
Month nine(plus!) of pregnancy diary
You’re very close now and your baby will put on about 200 grammes a week as this month advances. There’s not so much room for her to move, so expect a difference in the type of movement you get. |
